How our quizzes work

PickAQuiz makes the question source, scoring and limits visible before you begin. The current release is for adult self-exploration and reasoning practice.

Question sources

The Big Five test uses the complete 50-item IPIP questionnaire. The career interest test uses the complete 92-item ORVIS inventory. We preserve their source keys and compare dimension means, not unrelated raw totals. See the IPIP key and ORVIS key.

The personality preference quiz has 32 original questions. The emotional awareness quiz has 20 original questions. They have not undergone independent psychometric validation. The preference quiz is not the official MBTI assessment, and the emotional quiz does not produce a standardised EQ score.

Transparent scoring

For self-report dimensions, relevant responses are scored from 1 to 5, reversed where the key requires, and averaged. We display (mean − 1) × 25 as a scale position. This is not a percentile. Our original preference quiz uses X for positions from 45 through 55; this is a display convention, not a validated boundary.

The 30 original reasoning problems have correct answers and explanations. Results show overall and per-section accuracy. They do not estimate IQ or reproduce a hiring assessment. Repeated exposure can make the same items familiar.

Languages and review

English is the public version. Chinese is a local preview, with direct model-authored translations checked for wording and completeness. Translation review is not cross-cultural validation. Some career activities retain US-specific wording.

Editorial review checks source attribution, factual boundaries, examples, scoring consistency and links. It is not independent professional certification. We do not claim that our web implementation inherits every validation result reported for a source instrument.

Use your result thoughtfully

Combine your answers with real examples. Do not use a quiz score to diagnose a condition, select employees or decide another person's capabilities. Basic results and reasoning explanations are free. Future report features will describe their price and contents before any purchase.
